Privacy notice

The public briefing needs no account. There is no advertising tracker or payment collection. Optional first-party beta measurement is off until you enable it.

What stays on your device

The root briefing stores follows, saved story identifiers, reading progress, onboarding preferences and private notes with review dates in this browser. Root-app sign-in does not sync these records. Browser clearing or changing devices can lose them; use Watchlist to export a backup.

Optional beta measurement

Only if enabled in Watchlist, reading actions, source opens, follows, saves, completion, campaign labels and return days are stored locally with a random browser identifier and event timestamps. The same approved event is sent to the first-party Pareto Frontier endpoint. Note text, email addresses, search text and article content are not included. The endpoint converts the browser identifier into a short daily pseudonymous bucket before logging it. Disabling measurement stops sending and deletes the local events and identifier.

Feedback

Feedback saved in the app stays locally. “Send to founder” opens your email app with a draft; it does not send automatically. Sending an email shares the message and your email address with the founder. Do not include private financial or other sensitive information.

Providers and linked sources

Hosting requests go to Cloudflare, optional fonts to Google Fonts, and opening a source makes a request to its publisher. The separate stock preview loads TradingView charts. Providers may receive technical request information such as IP address, browser details and time under their own notices. The root briefing does not promise real-time chart data.

Legacy stock accounts

The separate stock preview at /prototype.html may enable Supabase authentication and sync after configuration. A user explicitly enables cross-device sync there; Supabase processes email/session information and a private synced product record. This legacy functionality does not enable root-briefing sync.

Controls

Use Watchlist to export follows/saves/notes, edit or delete notes, and delete local follows/saves/notes. Measurement has its own disable/delete control. Browser site-data controls remove all remaining preferences, sessions and caches. A service worker may cache public application files. Read publication and collection dates before relying on an offline or earlier edition.
